The move has got City tongues wagging. Linklaters corporate partner Charlie Jacobs has been holding the private equity baby since Raymond McKeeve and Graham White quit for Kirkland & Ellis last year.
Linklaters could not hope to have a more dynamic lawyer fighting its corner. As evidenced by the trio of mining deals Jacobs has closed in recent quick succession. But there’s not a private equity deal amongst them. That’s where Francies would come in.
