Linklaters has made up 18 lawyers to its partnership, with only six of the new partners coming from the London office.
Last year the firm made up eight London partners in a firmwide round of 14.
Corporate is the best-represented practice area with seven new partners, two of whom are based in the City. Capital markets has grown by four partners, while the litigation and international banking and projects group have both had two partners added.
The remaining three partners are divided between the London banking group, London projects team and the Frankfurt employment practice.
Away from London, Frankfurt has the most new partners with four, while Madrid and Hong Kong have seen two promotions apiece.
Five of the new partners are female, two of whom are in London.
In a statement, senior partner David Cheyne said: “These promotions highlight our continued commitment of investing in our global practices in order to enhance the breadth and depth of expertise we offer our clients. I would like to congratulate our new partners and counsel on their promotion and wish them the very best in leading the firm to further success.”
