Linklaters has made up 32 of its associates, outstripping the 30 promotions announced by global rival Clifford Chance last week.

The London office produced 13 of the new partners. However, the bulk of the promotions were from outside the UK, with 19 new partners spanning Stockholm, Paris, Warsaw, Munich, Sao Paulo, Frankfurt, Cologne, New York, Shanghai, Bucharest, Berlin, Luxembourg and Tokyo.

The corporate department accounted for 11 new partners while 13 associates were promoted into the partnership in finance and projects. Of these, three are banking specialists, five are capital markets and five in projects.

The appointments become effective from 1 May.
