Linklaters has embraced the technological age with the launch of its own take on Wikipedia: Linkpedia.
The magic circle firm's internal online networking and research tool, which is currently being piloted, will mirror the functions available on the online encyclopaedia.
Linklaters staff will be able to add photos, text and weblinks to Linkpedia themselves and will also be able to comment on entries that have been posted by their peers. The content, however, will all be firm-related.
Linklaters chief knowledge officer Matthew Parsons said the purpose of Linkpedia is to organise and share the knowledge held across the firm on a platform that staff are familiar with.
"The overall strategy is to see how the firm can use the technologies available in the public domain within the corporate law firm environment," explained Parsons.
If the pilot is successful then Linkpedia will go firmwide within a matter of months.
