Linklaters has poached a New York-based partner from O’Melveny & Myers.

Jeff Norton is the second US banking partner to join Linklaters’ New York office this year, following the arrival of Michael Bassett from Jones Day in January. Norton’s hire is designed to further extend Linklaters’ capabilities in banking and capital markets in the US and internationally.

Linklaters’ US managing partner Paul Wickes said Norton’s appointment is a further step in the growth of the firm’s international presence.

As well as Norton and Bassett, four other US partners have moved to Linklaters in the past 12 months, including Latham & Watkins investment management partner Scott Bowie in February this year.
