Linklaters names Hong Kong partner as Shanghai chief

Linklaters has continued the re-organisation of its Asian corporate offering with the appointment of Teresa Ma as head of its Shanghai office.

Meanwhile, London-based corporate and corporate finance partner Robert Cleaver will relocate to Hong Kong as the firm continues to bolster its Chinese capability.

Ma, an M&A partner currently based in Hong Kong, has advised on more than 20 public takeovers in the last five years and took the lead on the recent IPO and multi-jurisdictional listings of aluminium group Rusal.

The magic circle firm recently appointed London partner Stuart Salt as Asian managing partner (14 January 2010), following the surprise departure of previous incumbent Zilli Shao for JPMorgan last year (23 November 2009).

Another recent move has seen former Hong Kong chief Marc Harvey become joint managing partner for Greater China alongside Celia Lam.
