Linklaters has launched a restructuring & insolvency practice in the Netherlands with the hire of a Simmons & Simmons partner.
Corporate recovery lawyer Paul Kuipers joins Linklaters' Amsterdam office today as counsel from Simmons' local office.
Global head of restructuring & insolvency Tony Bugg said: "We are seeing an increasing demand for restructuring & insolvency advice in the Netherlands, just as we are globally. Paul's appointment will enable us to meet this demand."
Kuipers has experience advising banks, creditors and debtors in insolvency matters, stressed and distressed reorganisation and debt restructurings. This includes advising on European insolvency regulation.
Kuipers will head the new practice, and be responsible for developing a restructuring & insolvency capability in the Netherlands advising corporates and financial institutions on debt and equity restructurings, workouts, reorganisations and insolvency issues.
The launch of the Dutch restructuring & insolvency practice follows the launch of the firm's Dutch tax and employment practices last year.
