Linklaters is boosting its Iberian expertise with the hire of Spanish corporate partner Sebastián Albella.

Albella joins Linklaters’ Madrid office from Spanish independent firm Albella Pala Ramón & Cajal, where he was a founding partner. He brings with him two senior associates.

Prior to creating Albella Pala Ramón & Cajal, Albella was a Spanish government lawyer and headed the legal function of the Spanish Securities & Exchange Commission. He was involved in the drafting of the current Spanish Securities Market Act and also the current Banking Act.

Albella acted on three of the four IPOs that took place in Spain in 2004. He acts for corporates as well as investment and commercial banks.

Linklaters’ European managing partner, Jean-Marc Lefèvre, said the hire enhances the firm’s Spanish client offering.
