Linklaters chooses Eastwell to head global capital markets

Linklaters has named its managing partner of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) as the new global head of capital markets.
Nick Eastwell, who has been in charge of the firm’s growth in the CEE region since 1999, is taking over responsibility for the global practice from Michael Canby who is returning to full-time fee-earning.
Canby, who has led the London capital markets team since 1995 and the global group since 2000, will move into the derivatives and structured products area.
The division, lead by Michael Voisin, is one of a trio of groups within capital markets in London, which was split into three this year. The other divisions cover debt and equity, headed by Keith Thomson, and structured finance, led by Julian Davies.
Eastwell will assume responsibility for global capital markets on 1 May after which time Linklaters expects to name his successor as managing partner for the CEE region.
