Linklaters banking chief moves to New York" />Linklaters’ global head of finance & projects John Tucker is being relocated to New York to become the firm’s managing partner for the Americas.
Tucker, who was originally seen as a favourite to succeed Tony Angel as firmwide managing partner, will assume the role of the Americas chief with responsibility for the New York and São Paulo offices within Linklaters global network.
Simon Davies, Linklaters' managing partner-elect, who pipped Tucker to the firm-wide managing post in February, said: "Building a powerful presence in the US is a key strategic priority. I am excited about the opportunities that John Tucker's relocation and the expanded leadership team will create, particularly for building new and deeper client relationships in the US market."
The magic circle firm said that the move reflects the firm’s commitment to fulfilling its clients needs and expanding its US offering.
The magic circle firm today also announced that US partners Larry Byrne and Nick Rees have been appointed as co-managing partners in New York.
Paul Wickes will continue as US senior partner concentrating on steering the firm’s US expansion and business development strategies.
