Chief legal officer at Linde, Nick Deeming, is to step down this September.
Deeming was previously the head of legal at BOC prior to its takeover by Linde in a £7.5bn merger in September last year. Deeming has expressed that he is looking for a new challenge. A replacement has not yet been found.
Deeming has only just completed the integration of the two legal departments and reviewed the company's legal pabel, putting in place a new legal model that he dubbed The Linde Model.
He cut the number of external law firm advisors from 150 to just five. Firms that were dropped from Linde’s panel included Slaughter and May and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Linde’s most recently appointed advisers are DLA Piper, which has an exclusive global role and Linklaters, which has been appointed as key counsel for M&A and special projects.
