LG has advised the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) on its purchase of the freehold interest in its New Scotland Yard headquarters from Land Securities.
The firm tendered for the role and made use of a relationship with a member of the MPA team, who LG had advised when they worked at O2 – another client of the firm.
LG real estate partner Martin Stacey said: “This was a vitally important acquisition for the MPA as it gave it total control over the operational management of the building and decisions about the timing and extent of any future asset strategies.”
Stacey was assisted by partners Jane Fox-Edwards in real estate litigation, Stephen Turnbull in planning, Simon Randall in local government and Anthony Woolich in competition.
Nabarro property partner Nicholas Vergette advised longstanding client LandSecurities on the transaction.
