LG cuts 33 jobs at end of second round of talks

LG has completed a second redundancy consultation, with 33 members of staff losing their jobs.

The firm launched a consultation in January of this year with 37 members of staff (22 January).

As a result of this 15 lawyers have lost their jobs, together with 18 members of support staff. A further four members of staff have been retained within the firm.

This brings the total number of redundancies at the firm to 47. It follows the redundancy of 14 members of staff after a first consultation in autumn 2008, with the firm citing overcapacity rather than underlying financial questions as the reason for the cuts (27 October 2008).
