Lawrence Graham (LG) and SNR Denton have taken lead roles on the sale of the Jessops brand and certain assets to a group including Dragons’ Den entrepreneur Peter Jones.
LG restructuring and insolvency head Brett Israel led for the buyers, with SNR Denton disputes partner Rachel Anthony and managing associate Robert Spedding in the banking and finance department at the helm for Jessops’ administrators at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
The legal work was led on the SNR Denton side by Spedding, with Anthony in overall charge the team. Others at the firm acting the administrators were TMT and IP partner Scott Singer, corporate partner Candice Chapman and real estate partner Jason Sheard.
Jessops, the camera retailer, went into administration earlier this month, with PwC partners Edward Williams, Rob Hunt and Matthew Hammond appointed as administrators.
Background to this deal:
SNR Denton was initially instructed by the administrators of Jessops due to its background acting for the company’s main lender HSBC (9 January 2013).
