South Wales firm Leo Abse & Cohen has hired two solicitors to reaffirm its commitment to practising in Welsh.
Awen Mellick joins the 14-partner firm's wills and estates group from Gwent-based Gabb and Co and Dylan Roberts joins the commercial team from Eversheds' Cardiff office. Managing partner Ian Hopkins commented: "Other firms will have Welsh speakers for sure, but to have two young solicitors joining us who are fluent in Welsh and able to offer advice in both English and Welsh is pretty unique."
Both solicitors are native Welsh speakers and join the firm's Newport office. Leo Abse is the only firm in South Wales with offices in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea, and it now has Welsh speakers in all three.
Hopkins added: "What we have here is the ability to offer advice in Welsh if needed. It's about choice."
