Lenovo appoints senior vice-president

Personal computer manufacturer Lenovo has appointed Michael O’Neill as senior vice-president and general counsel.

O’Neill, who will report to chief executive and president William Amelio, will be responsible for the company’s legal, corporate governance, security and government relations globally.

He replaces outgoing general counsel James Shaughnessy, who has joined online travel company Orbitz Worldwide as senior vice-president and general counsel.

O’Neill was previously general counsel for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Canadian and US manufacturer Honeywell.
