Lend Lease has selected its first ever formal panel of firms, with Allen & Overy (A&O), DLA, Eversheds, Linklaters, Masons and Pinsents all winning roles advising the Australian property developer.
It is understood that Clifford Chance and Berwin Leighton Paisner also pitched, but missed out on places on the panel, which will cover the whole of the Lend Lease group in the UK, including construction and project management division Bovis Lend Lease.
The review, overseen by general counsel for Europe, Middle East and Africa Neil Martin, originally saw 11 firms asked to make written tender submissions to work across four key work streams – construction, development, property and project finance. This number was then whittled down to eight firms, which were asked to make oral presentations, before the final five firms were selected late last week.
Previously, Lend Lease used 17 firms on an ad hoc basis.
Martin said the selection process was a tough decision, made difficult by the impressive standard of all of the firm’s written and oral presentations.
