Lend Lease Projects head of legal Martin Hirst has left the company for a new post at Northamptonshire County Council.
Hirst, who won In-house Solicitor of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2009, made the move after Lend Lease Projects was merged into parent company Bovis Lend Lease.
Hirst’s former group has been rolled into a new department, Bovis Lend Lease Consulting, joining up with the consulting, engineering and project management units.
The changes were part of a major restructuring by Bovis Lend Lease.
Hirst has been appointed as a solicitor in the projects department of Northamptonshire County Council under head of legal Penny Osborne. The council employs 19 solicitors at its Northampton base.
Hirst is a construction specialist who studied as a quantity surveyor before training for the law.
