Legal aid is hairy work

I am sorry to take issue with your correspondent Mr Adam Copeland.

However, he is not correct when he says that applications for legal aid are "not pored over all day by a team of lawyers with white beards".

As a lawyer in legal aid with a white beard, I pore over such applications every day!
