THE LEGAL Action group has appointed a former citizens advice bureau officer to its ranks.

Vicki Chapman joins the legal pressure and educational group this month as its new policy officer, taking over from Anne Grosskurth who left for the Legal Aid Board last September.

Chapman qualified as a solicitor in 1985, having taken her articles at Phillips & Bucks, now Eversheds, in Cardiff. She moved to high-profile legal aid practice Fisher Meredith before joining the Low Pay Unit as its solicitor. She then moved to the Child Poverty Action Group where she took a series of cases against the Government on social security issues before moving to the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux as social policy officer.
