Stuart Turnock has been appointed assistant director of the legal services agency at Leeds City Council.

He joins Leeds from Lancashire County Council where he has been manager of the legal services unit and deputy head of the child care legal department.

His new position will involve overseeing the co-ordination of compulsory competitive tendering and overall management for the legal agency.

He has been replaced at Lancashire by Laura Sales who has been promoted from her post as manager of child care.

Ex-chair of the Law Society's local government group Arthur Price-Jones has temporarily joined Peterborough City Council as acting head of legal services. Previous acting head Diane Spence has reverted to her post as principal solicitor with the council.
