LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae has launched a New York-based entertainment, media and sports practice under one of Michael Jackson's defence lawyers, L. Londell McMillan.
McMillan, who has represented artists including Prince, Stevie Wonder and Spike Lee, joined the firm from The McMillan Firm, which he founded in 1997, bringing four colleagues with him.
Currently McMillan is defending Michael Jackson and his corporate trusts in legal wranglings over the IP ownership of The Beatles’ back catalogue.
John Quinones, who was head of corporate finance and asset management at McMillan, has joined as partner, while Bernard Jackson, who was senior counsel at McMillan, has joined as counsel. Associates Frank Salzano and Julian Petty have also joined LeBoeuf.
Prior to setting up his own firm McMillan worked as an entertainment and media lawyer with commercial litigation firm Gold Farrell & Marks. He began his law career in LeBoeuf's corporate department where, among other things, he counselled multimedia companies.
