THE INLAND Revenue is to pick lawyers' brains on how well the taxman performs.
The survey, part of its Citizen's Charter commitment, will focus on how effectively the Revenue administers the tax system on corporate and personal tax returns.
It will be aimed at lawyers, accountants and other "agents" involved in preparing returns. It sets out to discover agents' requirements of the system, how far those requirements are met and how well agents believe the tax system operates.
A revenue spokeswoman says: "It's something we are planning to do and we are not yet at a stage where we can disclose any further details."
The survey is due later this year and follows a 1992 taxpayers' survey, an employers' survey in 1993 and a pensioners' survey in 1994.
