Lawyers in deep float action

News of what is surely the final sports-related event of the summer reached Tulkinghorn recently.

Tim Taylor, a former trainee at London outfit Elborne Mitchell, who’s off to join Kennedys, set sail on Sunday 26 August in an attempt to canoe from the Humber Bridge to Tower Bridge.

His trip will take him up the Humber, the Trent, the Soar, the Grand Union Canal and finally the Thames – a total distance of more than 300 miles, with more than 250 locks to navigate.

Taylor is hoping to reach London on 12 September. He and the chum he’s travelling with have already raised around £1,500 for charity and are looking for more donations.

Keep an eye out if you’re near a river or canal and throw them a few coins. Alternatively, and probably more safely, make a donation to the Teenage Cancer Trust and Ablechild Africa.
