Lawyers get their just awards

LORD Woolf has been voted Legal Personality of Year by readers, in The Lawyer/ HIFAL Awards 1995.

He was presented with the award at a gala function in London on Friday.

National firm Eversheds was voted Law Firm of the Year and Doughty St Chambers was chosen as Barristers' Chambers of the Year.

The other awards were picked by judging panels.

Clifford Chance corporate finance lawyer Alison Price was named Assistant Solicitor of the Year.

Cable & Wireless' Elizabeth Wall won In-house Company/Commercial Law-yer of the Year and Martin Hayman of Standard Chartered won Banking/Finance In-house Lawyer of the Year.

The Law Society's Currine Powell was named Legal Secretary of the Year.
