FORMER Richards Butler solicitor Charles Reynard has left the firm's Hong Kong practice to join Nabarro Nathanson's new Sheffield office.
Reynard, who moved to Hong Kong six years ago as a founding member of Alsop Wilkinson's branch in the colony, returns as a senior company and commercial solicitor.
While practising in the Far East he moved to Richards Butler, where he handled a range of work including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, banking and establishing joint ventures both in Hong Kong and China.
Nabarros partner Richard Holt, who relocated from the firm's London office to head the Yorkshire-based company and commercial team, says Reynard's experience will further expand the 11-strong northern team.
Reynard says he decided to join Nabarros mainly to return to his northern roots. Based in Doncaster, he will relocate in October to the firm's new Sheffield practice.
"There comes a time when Hong Kong gets to be a little bit claustrophobic. It is a very exciting place, but you have to decide if you're going to go there for life. It was time to come home," says Reynard.
