Lawyer 2B creates state school scheme

Lawyer 2B has launched a new scheme to help open up the legal profession to state school-educated sixth-formers.

Around 200 talented first-year A-level students from schools across London will attend a two-day event at BPP Law School this week.

London boroughs that will be represented include Brent, Camden, Enfield, Greenwich, Hillingdon, Newham, Southwark and Tower Hamlets.

The students will attend a series of workshops designed to give them a better understanding of the steps needed to qualify as a solicitor or barrister, as well as the type of work that is handled by commercial lawyers.

The event's workshops are being presented by a stellar line-up of legal organisations, including Addleshaw Goddard, Atkin Chambers, CMS Cameron McKenna, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Linklaters, Nabarro, Simmons & Simmons, Slaughter and May and Weil Gotshal & Manges.
