Over 250 first year A-level students descended on BPP Business School this week to take part in Lawyer 2B’s annual sixth form careers day.
The youngsters who attended the event, now in its third year year, were part of the Government’s ‘Gifted & Talented’ and ‘Aim Higher’ programmes, which aim to encourage bright students to apply for university through workshops and mentoring schemes.
Iram Razzaq from Leyton Sixth Form said: “I’ve been really impressed with the day as I have learned so much about the City and what it means to be a lawyer. Even coming into the City at rush hour and seeing all the business people has made me want to strive for my dreams too. This has shown me that it is possible and I can do it.”
Top law firms including Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Linklaters were on hand to guide the students through a range of issues including the structure of the legal profession and how to make successful applications.
