Law Soc:judge in December

Your analysis on the programme of reform at the Law Society, (The Lawyer, 6 October), takes a most negative view. According to your article, the project is doomed to failure.

Regardless of what The Lawyer may think, there is a clear commitment to radical reform of the Law Society's decision-making structure.

This will lead to a streamlined, more responsive organisation. The details for the changes will be decided and published before Christmas.

December will be a more appropriate time for The Lawyer to examine whether the reforms are genuine.

If The Lawyer is serious about facilitating a real debate about change at the Law Society, it should adopt a more balanced approach to its coverage of the organisation.
