#Legal services complaints commissioner Zahida Manzoor has slammed the Law Society's complaints arm for not providing value for money, after fining the body £275,000. Manzoor said the society, through the Legal Complaints Service and nominally the Solicitors Regulation Authority, had racked up costs of £36m. She added: "When the Office of Legal Complaints comes into force it will spend around £21m for the whole legal profession, not just solicitors. It shows the Law Society's costs are too high." Law Society chief executive Des Hudson said the fine was disproportionate.
