The Law Society is sponsoring its second visit to Kazakhstan this month with its Book Bus and Bar Leadership project, which visits this week.
A team of 19 young UK solicitors, trainee solicitors and law students will run workshops on comparative UK and Kazakhstan law, and will distribute free law books to the Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan students attending.
The project visited Uzbekistan last year and its workshops were attended by over 120 people. This year around 140 delegates are expected.
The College of Law is also there this month running a pilot video training course jointly sponsored by the Law Society.

Mackenzie said the visits had already lead to an "embryonic" international network of students in central Asia and Transcaucasia. Known as the Central Asian Law Students Association, it will eventually link up with the European Law Student Association.
