Law Soc faces £1m fine for complaints blunders

The Law Society could be fined £1m if it delivers another “inadequate” plan for complaints-handling. Legal Services Complaints Commissioner Zahida Manzoor last week said the society’s original plan contains “fundamental weaknesses” and has asked for a revised version by 6 December. Manzoor has the power to levy a fine of up to £1m if the society fails to meet her targets.
