This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Shoosmiths has made up six lawyers to partner in its annual promotions round, covering employment, litigation, corporate, regulatory and real estate.
The senior associates join the firm’s partnership on 1 May in five different offices, with two promoted in Manchester and an additional one each in Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Southampton and the firm’s Thames Valley base in Reading.
Two of the new partners are in employment, while corporate, litigation, real estate and regulatory real estate receive one new partner each.
At the same time, the firm is promoting 16 lawyers this year to senior associate, the third year that Shoosmiths has moved staff up to the position after creating it in 2011.
Shoosmiths CEO Claire Rowe said in a statement: “With people, relationships and results still very much at the heart of all we do, we need the sort of people promoted here to develop and maintain the sort of relationships with clients that deliver the right results.
“I said a year ago that promotions achieved in a tough economic climate must be particularly hard won, and 12 months’ on little has changed. It shows that whatever the business environment, people at Shoosmiths roll their sleeves up and get on with it.”
Last year the firm promoted seven lawyers to partner and nine to senior associate (12 April 2012).
Later in 2012 Shoosmiths also confirmed 71 voluntary and 15 compulsory redundancies following a consultation round affecting 93 roles (24 July 2012).
