Shoosmiths assists with Chase Templeton's acquisition of UK Independent (Wessex)
Corporate specialists at Shoosmiths have helped Chase Templeton Group, a UK private medical and protection insurance broker, to make its first acquisition since securing growth funding.
Just weeks ago, the law firm advised Chase Templeton as it won investment from funds managed by the Manchester office of Palatine Private Equity. Now, Shoosmiths has helped the broker use some of that funding to purchase Hampshire-based UK Independent (Wessex).
The Manchester-based team of senior associate Karen Procter and solicitor Kelly Harvey acted for the Blackburn- and Bridgewater-based group in the deal, which sees Chase Templeton add more than 1,100 clients and around £5m of annual premium income.
