This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Plexus Law, the defendant arm of ABS giant Parabis, has hired Hill Dickinson insurance chief Jason Spencer and business development director Laurence Ives.
The hires come as the firm, which traditionally focused on the commoditised insurance market, plans a move into the bespoke market. The pair will be responsible for the newly developed Sector Solutions group, which will provide corporate motor and casualty claims market.
“This development enables Plexus Law better to align its services to the insurance market which is increasingly organised along sector lines,” commented Spencer, who spent 20 years with Hill Dickinson, five of them as insurance head, in a statement.
“Experience shows that different sectors demand different responses to common issues,” added Ives. “It’s an enormous boost for an insurer or corporate to partner with an adviser that understands how their sector works and what they need.”
In February last year Parabis took a cash injection from private equity house Duke Street to help fund its growth (6 February 2012 ).
The firm had long had ambitions to convert to an alternative business structure and has spent the last decade building a suite of services around the insurance claims market (14 April 2011).
