Karanovic & Nikolic has announced that the Ninth Annual International Conference on the Croatian real-estate market was held in Zagreb on 9–10 April 2013 at the Esplanade Hotel.

The event was attended by more than 400 participants and 115 Croatian and foreign lecturers.

The conference was an open forum discussing the Croatian accession to the EU, where the opening speeches were made by David Slinn, Her Majesty’s ambassador to the Republic of Croatia and Anka Dark-Taritaš, minister of construction and spatial planning.

Josip Marohnić participated, explaining the legal aspects on the topic of mixed-use projects and the added value of mixed-use projects in a panel discussion. Such projects, although extremely popular of late on the Croatian real-estate market, have certain legal features that should be kept in mind during their implementation, especially when residential purposes implies individual units ownership.
