Hogan Lovells wins 'Private Equity Deal of the Year' award at Latin Lawyer event
Hogan Lovells has been recognised with the ‘Private Equity Deal of the Year’ award by Latin Lawyer. The firm was commended for its representation of Tiendas Efe, the Peruvian household appliance chain, in acquiring a 75 per cent interest in rival Total Artefactos, which operates under the La Curacao brand.
The Latin Lawyer Deal of the Year Awards recognise general counsel and law firms advising on the most significant deals across Latin America.
In the deal, which closed on 20 December 2012, Tiendas Efe paid $150m for the acquisition over the Lima Stock Exchange. Tiendas Efe was joined by a consortium of private equity funds belonging to Linzor Capital Partners, Grupo Wiese, and PQ Investments in funding the acquisition.
