Conyers provides BVI advice to Kerzner on multi-jurisdictional debt refinancing
Conyers Dill & Pearman’s Audrey Robertson, Alison Chilcott Spyer and Kristian Wilson have provided British Virgin Islands (BVI) advice to Kerzner in respect of the multi-jurisdictional refinancing of $145m of its debt.
The transaction involved 17 companies in the Kerzner Group. Deutsch Bank was appointed as mandated lead arranger and underwriter of the facility, which was subsequently syndicated in the market.
Other banks included Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Emirates NBD and Doha Bank.
Kerzner is an international developer and operator of destination resorts, casinos and luxury hotels. The refinancing will allow the organisation to reduce its interest costs, reinvest in growth projects and continue its focus as a management company.
The Conyers’ team acted alongside Kirkland & Ellis (Chicago and London), SNR Denton (UAE), Creel, Garcia-Cueller (Mexico) and Harry B Sands Lobosky & Co (the Bahamas).
