The Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (the Directive) aims to create a harmonised European regulatory framework for managers of alternative investment funds (AIF). In broad terms, the Directive regulates the management and marketing of AIF where the activity takes place in the European Union or the AIF concerned are established in the European Union.
