New permitted development rights to make best use of underused buildings
The government has announced that from spring 2013 it will increase the scope of permitted development rights to make the best use of underused buildings. The idea is to promote the use of brownfield land to help regeneration and to bring empty and under-used buildings back into productive use while safeguarding environmentally protected land.
