King & Wood Mallesons hires Tim Sherman as a partner in the Sydney tax team
King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has appointed prominent tax practitioner Tim Sherman as a partner in the tax team at the firm’s Sydney office. After a period at Baker & McKenzie, Sherman rejoins KWM on 1 July 2013.
Sherman has experience across corporate and international tax advice, including M&A, private capital raisings, corporate restructuring and executive incentive arrangements.
He lectures at the University of Sydney and is a regular presenter and contributor to the Taxation Institute of Australia. He has been awarded the commissioner’s prize for research into Australia’s tax treaties.
His appointed follows the recent promotion of Darren McClafferty to partner in Melbourne. Together these appointments will complement KWM’s tax team, which is ranked Tier One in the 2013 Chambers Asia Pacific Directory.
