European Commission publishes directive to improve gender balance of listed companies

The European Commission recently proposed a directive with the aim of accelerating progress to greater gender equality in corporate boardrooms. The Proposed Directive will attempt to break the so-called glass ceiling preventing women from attaining the top positions in an estimated 5,000 European companies listed on various stock exchanges.
