Law firms nominated in National Council for Work Experience awards

Magic circle firm Linklaters has been nominated in the new legal sector category, along with Farrer & Co, Field Fisher Waterhouse, Nabarro, Shearman & Sterling and Simmons & Simmons.

Burges Salmon has also been shortlisted for the Work Placement of the Year as nominated by a careers adviser, jobshop or placement tutor.

“It’s exciting to be shortlisted for these awards,” said Nabarro trainee resources manager Jane Drew. “They draw attention to the benefits of internships at a time when they can give young people a valuable edge when the enter the workplace.”

The NCWE awards recognise a variety of organisations that provide exceptional students and graduate internships.

The winners will be announced on 20 March 2012.

The news follows The LawyerWorkplace and Diversity awards last week, which saw Irwin Mitchell and Eversheds scoop the best graduate trainee recruitment campaign and most innovative recruitment initiative respectively (8 February 2011).
