This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Osborne Clarke (OC) has made up three lawyers to partner from yesterday (2 May) including two in Bristol and one in London in its first UK partner promotions round for two years.
London real estate associate William Gay and Bristol-based duo Emily Jones (technology) and Charlie Wedin (commercial disputes) all make the cut.
The news follows OC’s promotion of five lawyers to partner across its Continental European offices in January (23 January 2013).
However, it did not make up any UK lawyers to partner in 2012 but added six internationally. The year also saw OC hire roughly ten partners laterally.
The previous UK promotions were in 2011, when four stepped up in Bristol and one in London (10 May 2011).
Managing partner Simon Beswick said in a statement: “Both William and Emily have been at the firm since they joined as trainees. Their promotion is down to their legal expertise, client-led ethic and ability to grow our business. Each of them has taken time to develop deep sector knowledge of at least one of our key sectors which means that clients are able to act base commercial decisions on their advice.”
