Farrer & Co and Olswang have both confirmed the results of redundancy consultations begun earlier this year, laying off fewer people than originally feared.
The two firms began redundancy consultations in January. Farrers said it was in talks with 12 staff, including one fee-earner (16 January 2013) while Olswang held a redundancy consultation with six employees in its finance and employment teams (30 January 2013).
This week a spokesperson for Farrers said the firm had made nine people redundant and found alternative employment for the remaining three. The spokesperson would not confirm the roles which were lost, but the consultation affected one fee-earner, two professional support lawyers, three secretaries and six business services staff.
Meanwhile Olswang confirmed it had made three mid to senior-level associates redundant from its finance and employment teams.
