DAC Beachcroft has made up five lawyers to partner after promoting the same number last year.
London insurance litigator James Deacon, Manchester claims solutions lawyer Craig Godding, Birmingham claims solutions specialist Daniel Abbey, Madrid professional indemnity, energy and construction lawyer Alejandra Galdos and Jose-Maria Alvarez-Cienfuegos join the UK firm’s partnership today (1 May), who specialises in energy, engineering and construction-related losses.
The promotions bring the firm’s total partner count to 247.
Of the quintet, Deacon, Galdos and Alvarez-Cienfuegos started at the firm as trainees.
DAC Beachcroft managing partner Paul Murray said in a statement: “Two of our promotions this year are in claims solutions. Our claims business is a key part of DAC Beachcroft, representing around one third of the firm’s people and approximately £64m in revenue and is essential to achieving our strategic goals for domestic and international growth.
“Another two partner promotions are in Madrid where the firm is regarded as the leading insurance practice in Spain. Not only is the Madrid office the leader in its field but with the increasing coverage that we have across Latin America, the overall team is getting stronger and stronger.”
Last month the firm lost a nine-lawyer team in Madrid to close rival Clyde & Co, which has launched in the Spanish capital (16 April 2012).
In 2012 DAC Beachcroft made up five lawyers to partner across London, Leeds and Newport (26 April 2012).
