Latham & Watkins to lose top rainmaker to Rothschild Group

Latham & Watkins‘ New York office is losing one of its top rainmakers to investment bank Rothschild North America.

Roger Kimmel’s primary role was as the firm’s relationship partner for investment bank Bear Stearns. Kimmel also worked closely with utilities giant Sithe Energies.

Lathams has not been able to claim Rothschild North America, the US arm of the European investment bank Rothschild Group, as a client until now.

New York corporate partner Marc Jaffe will take over the firm’s relations with Bear Stearns, where Lathams is one of the principal advisers on high-yield debt.
