This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
It is understood that tax partners Sean Finn and Daniel Friel are in advanced discussions with the Los Angeles-based firm.
The potential departures will be a further blow to Lovells, which recently lost private equity partners Marco Compagnoni and Derek Baird to Weil Gotshal & Manges and Allen & Overy (A&O) respectively.
The resginations have resulted in all of Lovells’ private equity associates quitting during the past week. Five associates are following Compagnioni to Weil Gotshal, two will be joining Baird, and one is moving to Clifford Chance.
A Lovells spokesperson said: "We had been hoping to encourage some of them to stay but it is inevitable that sometimes associates will join the partners at their new firms."
"We are disappointed but we said we will rebuild in London and that's what we will do."
Lovells and Latham declined to comment on Finn and Friel.
