Latham & Watkins has boosted its Italian arm with the hire of corporate finance partner Antonio Coletti from Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners.
The lateral is the first major move from the firm since mounting a five-partner raid on Bonelli Erede Pappalardo last November.
Coletti's practice focuses on capital markets advice to companies, investment funds and private equity firms. His time at Gianni Origoni included a secondment to Merrill Lynch in London where he worked on Italian compliance matters.
Michael Immordino (pictured), managing partner for Latham & Watkins in Italy, said: "Antonio is a perfect fit for our Italian strategy and more broadly our ongoing European corporate finance expansion. He is an excellent hands-on lawyer, a hard-working and entrepreneurial partner and a leader in Italian equity capital markets"
Latham & Watkins launched its Italian law practice in November last year with the group hire of finance partner Andrea Novarese and M&A partners Maria Cristina Storchi, Fabio Coppola, Tommaso Amirante and Simone Monesi from Bonelli Erede Pappalardo. Since then the firm has bulked up with 20 associates.
