Latham & Watkins' New York office has made its second lateral partner hire in a week for its corporate department, luring Taurie Zeitzer from O'Melveny & Myers.
Zeitzer has particular experience in private equity deals both across the US and in Europe.
Her arrival follows that of corporate partner Adel Aslani-Far, who joined Latham's New York office last week from Dewey Ballantine.
Latham's New York managing partner David Gordon said of Zeitzer: "Her arrival further strengthens our top-ranked M&A and private equity group and she will bolster the team's representation of clients in sophisticated and complex transactions."
Latham has recently been keen to shed its grouping as a ‘West Coast’ firm – a group that O'Melveny also belongs to. The firm aims to make its offices in New York and London, the world's two biggest financial centres, the hubs of its 22-office global practice, at least in terms of critical mass.
New York lawyer headcount at Latham has already overtaken Los Angeles, the firm's historic headquarters, with 275 lawyers to Los Angeles' 260.
